LPL T20: Let’s Win Together

My 11 circle LPL T20 has now reached its business end, with only 3 games remaining – 2 semi-finals & a final. After the battle of three weeks between five teams, all have qualified except for Kandy Tuskers. Here’s how the semi-final schedule looks like:

Semi-final 1: Colombo Kings v Galle Gladiators, Dec 13, 2020, 2pmGMT

Semi-final 2: Dambulla Hawks v Jaffna Stallions, Dec 14, 2020, 2pm GMT

Since all four teams are fuelled by powerful youngsters and tactical expertise, these will be fierce contests.

Hats-off to Sri Lankan Cricket

Regardless to say that Srilankan Cricket organized the LPL T20 with precision during the pandemic situation. We at Cricket bloggers hats-off for the tremendous effort doing by all the parties involved. Let us also pay our gratitude to the ground staff. Because they did an excellent job throughout the series in stormy weather. Needless to say that only one match was called off, all thanks to these gentlemen.

LPL T20: Unearthing New Sri Lankan Talent

Even though the big names were missing from the My 11 circle LPL T20, it proved that they have good cricketing blood nonetheless. The League started with – Colombo Kings v Kandy Tuskers – a super-over finish, after 200+ runs scored from both the sides. And even the last league match between Dambulla Hawks v Colombo Kings had 200+runs.

Most importantly, the Lanka Premier League helped in unearthing the gems of Srilankan cricket.

Nuwan Thushara

Also known as Malinga junior ( Podi Mali) showed his metal during the death overs. He is in his mid-twenties and now is the right time to get him to the Srilanka T20I squad. 

Vijayakanth Viyaskanth

Vijaykanth has to be the most promising youngster of the LPL T20. Needless to say, he is the first Jaffna-born cricketer to appear in an internationally televised game. The 19 years old right-arm leg spinner has the form Srilankan skipper’s wicket in his bag, apart from many others. Just a few days after he played his first match, his performance was viral on YouTube. He was as popular as other Sri Lankan cricket overnight.

Even Thikshila de Silva showed his all-round performance with his limited opportunities. We hope that he’ll get more opportunities next season, to prove his consistency at this stage.

Let’s Win Together

Now we are in the semifinals. Internationals all-rounders like Andre Russell, Shoaib Malik, and Samit Patel will be in action. As far as bowling is concerned, let’s hope that Qais Ahmad and Mohammad Amir use their international experience, and return the commendable figures. On top of that, all four units have the talented International Srilankan players as well.

Explosive opening batsman DhanushkaGunathilake has already scored 462 runs in 8 matches to top the batting list. Undoubtedly, he’ll look to touch the 500-mark. On the other end, WaniduHasaranga has 13 scalps to top the bowling list, with a mind-blowing economy of 5.48.
